For Australia, we appreciate our horse racing & we figured we’d disclose Aussie’s biggest & largest famous event, Its’ Melbourne Spring Festival. Rest back & be entertained as we bring you through Melbourne’s biggest race around Australia, revealing the stars of the Turf & of course the trainers & riders in the center of this eye-opening industry. This is Melbourne’s very best moment for punters to get their money’s worth.

Once we get beyond Derby Day and by god it’s an enormous race, we prepare ourselves for the day that stops the nation, The Melbourne Cup. Ever since the origin of the race, the stories of Archer being paraded down from Sydney to challenge the Trophy and who won the first two runnings of it to boot, Aussies have been captivated. Melbournians even have a public holiday to celebrate! With so many TAB and online sports betting websites in Australia, punters can easily place their bets.

The love affair that was Makybe Diva and the Aussie population was something to be admired. Makybe was why people went to the track. To win 3 Melbourne Cups in succession is something which we seemingly will not ever happen again. What about the shock Aussies got when Dermot Weld came out and took our Cup back to Ireland back in ‘93 with Vintage Crop. Or conceivably when he tried it again back in ‘02 with Media Puzzle. What about Sheila Laxon winning with Ethereal, or perhaps the famous Might And Power and Doriemus photo finish. The rain poured down back in ‘74 & Van Der Hum took it home.

And then maybe there was Bart. JB Cummings. The Cups King. The man who has trained the Melbourne Cup victor a lazy eleven times. With horses such as Light Fingers, Galilee, Think Big (twice), Hyperno, Let’s Elope and Saintly winning for him in the past. In 2008 punters and bookies alike were hoping Viewed could do it for the Cup Kings and make that sluggish 11 a decent dozen beyond the screen & who would have though the soon to be 80 year old would really complete it. Well accomplished Bart, you are absolutely the king of the Turf.

We will also not forget the hot water Luca Cumani and 2nd place winner Bauer landed in after it was uncovered the horse gotten shockwave treatment, prohibited within 7 days of the Melbourne Cup. The disorder was phenomenal, particularly after it was found an RVL elected vet conducted the treatment.
